Garlic Batter Bread

Here is the recipe:


3 cups flour, divided                          2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 pkg. active dry yeast                       2 small cloves garlic
1 teaspoon salt                                  1 teaspoon dried parasley, crushed
1 1/4 cups milk                                  1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
2 tablespoons sugar                            1 egg
 
   Combine 1 1/2 cups of the flour, the yeast and salt in large mixer bowl.  In 
saucepan, heat milk, sugar and butter until warm (120 to 125 degrees).  (Butter
does not need to ge completely melted.)
   Mince garlic finely or put through garlic press.  Add with parsley and rosemary
to flour mixture.  Add milk mixture and egg to flour mixture and beat at low speed
until blended.  Beat at high speed 3 minutes.  Sir in remaining flour by hand.
   Cover and let rise until double in bulk, 30 to 45 minutes.  Stir down and turn into
a well-greased 2-quart casserole.  Cover and let rise until almost double, about 
30 minutes.  Bake at 350 degree oven 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.  
Remove from pan to wire rack to cool.


 I replace the herbs with sweet basil and oregano and garlic.  It is more like my favorite herb bread.
This is a very soft loaf.
