Chrome Remote Desktop

Chrome Remote Desktop (in remote connection mode) seems to work like a VNC server that handles NAT and Firewall traversal by phoning into Google.

Installation on linux is somewhat cumbersome. You must install chrome, install the app, share this computer (which launches an installation of the system daemon) then cancel and refresh so the local system shows up and you can enable local sharing.

All that for a non-functioning black window.

To fix this last issue you'll need to create a file in your home directory so it launches the correct window manager.

vim ~/.chrome-remote-desktop-session

/usr/bin/lxsession -s Lubuntu -e LXDE

sudo service chrome-remote-desktop restart
