Status

One can use mod_status to get realtime status info from apache. Add the status module and it's available at

http://www.ohio.edu/server-status

To enable in SuSE, you have to work with the sys config files.

Edit /etc/sysconfig/apache2
Add the keyword "status" to the APACHE_MODULES as the below example

{code:none}
APACHE_MODULES="access actions alias auth auth_dbm autoindex cgi dir env expires include  log_config mime negotiation setenvif ssl status suexec userdir php4"
{code}

Edit the  mod_status.conf to add the hosts you want to allo, and extended statis if desired, like the following example

{code:none}
#
# Allow server status reports generated by mod_status,
# with the URL of http://servername/server-status
#
# see http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/mod/mod_status.html
#
<IfModule mod_status.c>

    ExtendedStatus On

   <Location /server-status>
        SetHandler server-status
        Order deny,allow
        Deny from all
        Allow from localhost
        Allow from all
    </Location>
</IfModule>
{code}
