Open Office Regular Expressions

You can find and replace in Open Office using regular expressions. This is much more powerful that Word's approach (or at least their approach when I stopped using MS Office) However, there are some quirks where they deviate somewhat from what you'd expect from RegEx's. For instance, a parenthetical match is remembered as a '&' as opposed to $1.

To Remember and Replace

i.e to put the pipe '|' character before and after every line

Search: ([^]+) Replace |&|
