How-To Configure Outlook 2002 for Exchange

This document has three parts:

Configuring Outlook if it has already been setup before Configuring Outlook via the setup wizard Setting it up manually (if all else fails)

If the setup wizard does not start automatically when you first click start Outlook, you will need to remove the existing info so you can run the setup wizard again. If it does start, proceed to the second section. If you receive an error message during this process, you will need to configure it manually, as described in the last section.

Removing existing configuration info

Open the control panel Open the mail icon Click the Show Profiles button Select all existing profiles and click the Remove Button Click the add button In the Profile Name field type default and click OK In the E-mail Accounts window, click Close A dialog box will then pop up and ask you “if you want to create a profile with no e-mail accounts, click OK”, do this by clicking OK In the Mail window, select OK to close. Proceed onto the next section.

Running the Outlook Configuration Wizard

Start Outlook (Do not start outlook express. Outlook is the one with the gold icon, not to be confused with the blue icon of outlook express) Click next on the Outlook 2002 Startup screen Select Do Not Upgrade on the E-mail Upgrade Options screen, and click next. Select yes on the E-mail Accounts screen, and click next Select Microsoft Exchange Server in the Server Type screen, and click next Type mail.biotech.ohiou.edu in the Microsoft Exchange Server field Type your user name in the user name field, and click check name. If the computer accepts your name, click next. If not, contact support. The server may prompt you for your password and domain, if so, remember your domain is biotech.
